Shown below is the first prototype of 4thDT™ Security's FTAP-2525 hardware/firmware product which incorporates 4thDT™ SIBB technology. Due to the economic times we are forced to delay the pre-production beta release for an additional twelve months. We are still looking for beta testers and interested investors to help launch this new technology into full production. If you are interested in being a part of this contact us and we will get back to you.
FTAP-2525-PCI

4thDT™ Security blends the best of digital and analog
technologies to create a breakthrough hybrid solution that overcomes the
security shortcomings of today’s totally digital software security
applications. This technology is a hardware/firmware PlugN’Play solution that eliminates
unauthorized access without the use of passwords or encryption keys. This technology is operating system (OS)
platform independent and can be integrated into any system where secure
point-to-point data transmission and database storage are required, and has
been developed to operate transparently with IPv6 protocol.
It is no mistake that throughout history the greatest encryption
devices were hardware based. This technology breakthrough is not simply taking
a software algorithm and putting it on silicon and then calling it a “hardware
solution”; it is a true hardware based
solution and not an implementation of the traditional software solutions on the
market today. It is not based on existing encryption algorithms found in the
digital arena, and therefore cannot be software emulated. 4thDT™ Security completely eliminates MITM (Man-In-The-Middle) hacking attacks.
4th DT™ Research Findings
4thDT™ research focused on two fronts in developing
this new technology: strengthen the cryptographic scrambling methodology to
eliminate brute force crypto analysis, and isolate the network infrastructure
problem areas from malicious attack.
Our first market for the introduction of our product is the SCADA arena since it is one of the more vulnerable infrastructures at this time. To protect SCADA control systems, that are designed to operate
unattended, the best defense is a strong offense against unauthorized access –
a quantum cryptographic scrambling technology.
Current encryption technologies (RSA, DES, AES) consist of algorithms
that can be hacked through brute force and other extraction methodology. The 4thDT™ hardware/firmware
solution is a hybrid technology that integrates hardware (that cannot be
digitally modeled) with digital component scrambling to defeat brute force
hacking.
Research also indicates that legacy systems, which by default
have outdated hardware, have the greatest probability of falling victim to the
latest network intrusion schemes. This
research led to defining one of the key performance characteristics: a security
technology that is transparent to the OS platform.
Medium to Small Scale and Legacy System Integration
The figure below the implementation of the 4thDT™ Security
solution for the small to medium scale legacy system configuration. The same
network without the 4thDT™ solution used the available IDS/IPS
firewall technology, which has proven to be easily broken. Even with the conventional IDS/IPS system,
the wireless connection to the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is, creating
an extreme vulnerability.

The addition of 4thDT™ F’TAP-2525W cards eliminates
all vulnerability points, and maintains the expansion capability of the
wireless remote point. Since the IED
(Intelligent Electronic Device) and PLC (Programmable
Logic Controller) devices are hard wired to the switch ports, the user may add
as many hard wired ports as required without additional F’TAP-2525W Cards. The
F’TAP-2525W card will handle up to 65,000 IP addresses and ports from a single
WAP connection. This makes the 4thDT™ F’TAP-2525 upgrade very cost
effective to both current and legacy systems.
The cost of a medium to small scale SCADA
systems usually run under $1 million dollars and, replacing this system also dictates
a parallel system effort while the old process remains running. As with the
large scale SCADA network conversion, the downtime is minimized with the 4thDT™
Security solution and in many cases it is slightly over the time it takes to
install the PCI card hardware into the associated workstations and servers. The
costs associated with updating a small to medium scale systems with the 4thDT™
solution has also been estimated at less that 15% of the total system costs.
Large Scale SCADA Network Integration
As you can see, 4thDT™ is a PlugN’Play solution
regardless of the platform running or the control algorithm used to control the
system. Each F’TAP-2525W PCI card installed in the workstation and the Remote
Terminal Units (RTU) ensures secure point-to-point communications. The SCADA
Servers have the F’TAP-2525S2 cards installed, forming a Client/Server network
connection with the RTUs and the monitor and control workstations. The
F’TAP-2525W devices scramble and encapsulate the payload only.

All network communications pertaining to the transport agents are
left intact to ensure the destination point. For the wireless connections, all
data being transmitted through the wireless access point is scrambled and
cannot be descrambled without the associated 4thDT™ hardware. This
guarantees “Absolute Security Point-to-Point” for each RTU and process.
Outside unauthorized access is eliminated, as well as all encryption keys and
passwords. This is almost a mandatory requirement for SCADA systems since many
of the SCADA communications over the network do not use passwords or other
forms of authentication.
The cost of a large scale SCADA system
generally exceeds $1 million dollars, and replacing this system dictates that
this be a parallel effort while the old process remains running. The time
element alone is overwhelming and extremely costly – well over the current
costs of the system. With the 4thDT™
solution downtime is minimized and in many cases it is slightly over the time
it takes to install the PCI card hardware into the associated workstations and
servers. The costs associated with
updating a large system with the 4thDT™ solution has been estimated
at less that 15% of the total system costs.
